We went blueberry picking with some friends
on Wednesday. Of course we sampled as we picked,
and after Evvie made banana-blueberry bread,
Mama froze the rest for later yummy delights!

Monday evening found the Trillium Chamber Orchestra
in rehearsal! We are learning some fun Western pieces
for some performances in a few cider mills this fall!

The Thompson Family invited several other families
over yesterday for a day of fun and fellowship!
A lot went into the planning, and everything
went off without a hitch.
It was a perfect day weather-wise, and everyone
enjoyed the activites, food, and friends!

Olivia is the horse-lover, and everyone

We took the kids to a neighbor's pool

It was great to have the Vineckis stay overnight!

The Hayse girls needed rides to and from String Camp,
and since they live in our area, we able to carpool!
From picking them up at 7:30 each morning (at Tim Horton's!)
and trying to wake up on the drive down, to spending the days
with them in some of our orchestras and quartets,
to driving back (to T.H.'s) in the late afternoon,
it was a fun and lovely time :) Now we just have
to get together for some other reason!

The movie "Miss Potter" captures the sweet story of this artistic woman and her journey from artist to author. Excellent acting and glimpses of the beautiful English countryside make this a lovely family film.

an unsused horse tail from another horse (we have connections)
and made it into a tail extension for a horse at Banbury.

Annick and I have been spending the week with the Vinecki family. They have a new baby, Isabella Grace, and they needed a few extra grown-up hands around the house. We've been to the grocery store, the beach, a fireworks show, around the property on motorcycles, and of course, we've been taking turns holding the new baby!

Lucas kindly washed our ol' van, and it looks pretty spiffy!

We made it back from Lansing!
The first week of Summer Camp was fun,
and some new elements were added!
Namely, one of the student buses was in a minor crash,
(other cars got banged up, but the bus didn't)
thankfully no one was hurt.
Secondly, the Capitol was being used for real
legislature on Friday, so our 'Representatives'
and 'Senators' had to improvise in another
building located on the Campus property.

Other than that, everything went smoothly
and students were very excited about
their experience!

Thar she goes!

We four are going to be in the North Branch parade
on the 4th of July. The theme is 'honoring the military'
so we have a variety of outfits. Annick will be walking
by a pony-drawn cannon, Catrina will be carrying a flag,
I will be part of the Red Cross and Dixie will be part of
'Dogs for Defense', and Evvie will be walking a horse
to represent 'Black Jack' the famous riderless horse
that is part of presidential funerals.
Hope it doesn't rain!

Visiting the Vineckis

While here in Petosky, we spent some time with
the Vineckis on Sunday and Tuesday. Mrs. Vinecki
is expecting a baby, so Annick and I stayed for a
few days to help with errands, sewing, and doing
things with the kids :)
