Happy Birthday, Mama!

We celebrated Mama's birthday
on Sunday. She chose Chicken Sausages,
Basmati Rice, green beans, sparkling cider
and Frango Mint Pie :)

Presents! Quite a stack too!

Some pretty embroidery, for the kitchen, by Evvie

Some special gifts all the way
from Mrs. Tonk, in Alaska!
How about some R-Moose-Able
lip balm?

Fabulous and fun gifts all the
way from Mrs. DeLa in Texas!
We love the shoe knives!

"Of course I know that thatch attracts mice..."
-Father Tim 'At Home in Mitford'

...that's why we're taking it off! :)

Rocks peeking out of the plaster aren't the easiest to pick off...

Sadly, Mama was the only mourner of the
razing demise of our pretty cottage.
(I truly can't imagine shellacking every one of our houses...)

12 hours of trilogy...

We spent just a little time at the Thompson's last week
watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It was quite the film!
(and some of us are open to discussion on it and the different
aspects (right and wrong) of the movie) :) :)

Mama decided to accept a mug
of Brazilian coffee, complete with
whipped cream and a cherry,
in order to stay awake :)

I had fun making these bread Rings, which as you can see,
are rings inside rings :), and Evvie and Catrina helped me
hand-ink the calligraphy I drew. The bread is a whole-wheat
recipe with an herb-cream cheese filling, and the poem is a
'revision' of the poem of the rings.

Pippin's Green Drink
(don't let the Ents know what it's made of!)

The comment box is open for comments on
what YOU think is in the drinks!
(hint: think smoothie ingredients)

We girls sang carols as we colored graphs for
Amber's hot-air balloon afghan.
It 's going to look fabulous!

Getting ready to 'make plates' to bring with
us into the 'theatre' :)
