Has Spring, Sprung?

I think so.
This week we've been rolling out the summer clothes, and have been thinking about packing for our annual trip to Sun City West, Arizona. So far the weather has been absolutely gorgeous up here on the hill, and we have been enjoying it immensely!!
Updates on our life:

  • Grandpa stayed for a week, as he was feeling a bit under the weather.
  • Dixie is just about 3 months old, a good age to begin obedience training!
  • A cold has descended upon the house and we are battling it with garlic, Wel-M, and other stuff.
  • Papa and Mama are on a high-protein-no-carb diet, and it has become a little difficult to vary their menu, but they are trooping along!
  • Orchestra practice intensifies as we draw ever nearer to the concert date, April 21.

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Dixie-Land

Dixie has come to stay! She is a 9 week-old Lab/Terrier mix puppy. She is quite the bundle of energy, especially outside in the fresh air. There is something invigorating about it that gives her the "wild-puppy energy-spurt"! But then there is also something about racing back to the human who is shaking dog food in a plastic cup. Yum! We are teaching her manners, and I hope she will soon realize that whining doesn't bring anybody to get her out of her room. Dixie loves to climb into a lap and nap, or nuzzle around looking for a hem to nibble.

Dinner with a Missionary

We had the pleasure of entertaining Mr. Allen Iobst, who with his family is a missionary in Algeseris, Spain, last Thursday. It was exciting to hear of the success of the project he works with! He helps to run the project, which distributes Christian literature in the native language, to the people waiting to board the ferry on their return to North Africa. Many of the people are students who study in Europe and return to their North African homes during the weekends and holidays.

Mr. Iobst told stories, answered questions, and showed a video and pictures of the country and his work. He and his wife Deedee have 3 children: Josiah (6) and twins Thomas and Phoebe (4).

We had dinner, chatted, had a prayer time, and 3 of us girls played some music for him. We look forward to seeing him again soon, and this time he'll bring the family!
