"The Meaning of 'Choice'" screening for Cast & Crew

The rain was torrential as we drove down to Ferndale for the movie screening.

Scottie Moser (plays "Joe" in the movie) was able to come up from OK for the event.

Zyrek, who managed the audio for the film, is moving to Indiana with his family,
so we combined the screening with a "send-off".
Here Zyrek watches Clare (plays "Angela") cut the cake with
the attack knife.

A group photo of some of the Cast & Crew.

Catrina and Scottie had an impromptu stare-down...
with just a little distraction for drama.

Everyone was delighted with the film, and there were rounds of applause for
all who were invloved.
Execellent work everyone!!

So...what DO you do?

This is a description of what we Marshall maidens actually do while here in our stately abode:

“I believe I have discovered the best place for me to use my gifts to the fullest, to be the most productive and the best educated. It is that same sphere that God established to be the incubator of Christendom, the engine for cultural renewal and reformation, the center of dominion and warfare, a powerhouse of discipleship, ministry and evangelism, a refinery of Christian character, a conservatory of the true arts and sciences, a hub for industry and entrepreneurialism, a bastion of Christian culture and godly aesthetics, and a greenhouse for budding Christian leaders. It is what Spurgeon called, “the grandest of all institutions.” It consequently is the same sphere in which God created women to be, in the first place. Would you like to know more?”

Some detail about the things we do, or have done, as a foursome:
  • Volunteer at a Theraputic (horse) Riding center, for special needs people
  • Play our instruments together, and in a larger group of musicians
  • Model for a pastel artist
  • Practice hospitality whenever we are blessed with company
  • Exercise our minds by reading literature
  • Give of the fruit of our hands, when extra hands are needed

Now for the particulars about ourselves as individuals:

Allison Joy

Allison is continuing her studies on the violin, and enjoys playing the piano as well. She is also Catrina's violin instructor. She currently makes the evening meal every night, and also enjoys making a variety of baked goods, including breads and pies. She joins her sisters once a week as a Theraputic Riding volunteer. Photography is her main interest, and she enjoys toting her camera everywhere! She maintains this blog, as well as a Christian photography forum. She also makes teddy bears, clothing, and smocked dresses for little girls. Allison and Annick are also mother's helpers to a lady in the area once a week. She is also a model for a Christian pastel artist.

Annick Joelle

Annick's musical studies include piano, cello, acoustic and classical guitar. She can improvise just about anything for any occasion on the piano. Currently, she employs herself in repairing and making horse tack items, in order to pay for her horses' food. She is also preparing to be certified as a Theraputic (horse) Riding Instructor. She volunteers once a week to teach at Banbury Cross Theraputic Riding Center, while the three of us work with the horses and assist the students there. She is an excellent seamstress, and also makes delicious food in our kitchen. She enjoys growing and using herbs, woodburning, glass painting, writing music, and making costumes.

Evvie Caroline

Evvie is our harpist, and she is also continuing the study of the piano. She enjoys making "Papa's cookies" when the cookie jar is getting low, as well as an occasional pan (or two!) of brownies when we have company over. She is becoming quite the horsewoman, too! Our 3 horses and 3 ponies take up quite a bit of her day. She is working with her gelding, and can drive one of the ponies, with it's cart, very well. Evvie volunteers once a week with the rest of us, at Banbury Cross. Her formal education continues, and she also employs herself in quilling and cross-stitch. She happily stitches special pieces for our newlywed family and friends.

Catrina Bree

Catrina continues her studies in piano and violin. She enjoys "reigning" in the kitchen as she makes delicious delicacies! She takes pleasure in playing with and caring for our dogs, cats, and occasionally the horses. Catrina joins Allison, Annick, and Evvie, once a week, as a volunteer for Banbury Cross Theraputic Riding Center. She is very creative and industrious with her hands, and makes a variety projects including crafts, gifts, and costumes. Knitting is also a hobby. Her formal education continues, and she is also learning some French on her own.

Much Ado About Nothing

The Michigan Youth Theatre gave an excellent performance of Shakespeare's play, Much Ado About Nothing. The actors and actresses ranged in age from 11-17, and they played their parts very well! The two Mungons' girls, Ashley and Lisa, as well as Christine Manzagol, were among the actresses, and as we know their families, it was a delight to watch them perform!
Excellent job everyone!

Hero's father, Leonato and uncle, Antonio.

The two suitors, Benedick and Claudio.

Lisa Mungons as "Hero"

Hero's cousin, Beatrice

BEATRICE Very easily possible: he wears his faith but as the fashion of his hat; it ever changes with the next block.

Claudio and Hero

Ursula (Christine Manzagol) and Hero talking about Beatrice's suitor, Benedick.

BALTHASAR Well, I would you did like me.
MARGARET So would not I, for your own sake; for I have many ill-qualities.
BALTHASAR Which is one?
MARGARET I say my prayers aloud.
BALTHASAR I love you the better: the hearers may cry, Amen.
MARGARET God match me with a good dancer!
BALTHASAR Amen.
MARGARET And God keep him out of my sight when the dance is done! Answer, clerk.
BALTHASAR No more words: the clerk is answered.

DOGBERRY Come, let them be opinioned.
VERGES Let them be in the hands--
CONRADE Off, coxcomb!
DOGBERRY God's my life, where's the sexton? let him writedown the prince's officer coxcomb. Come, bind them.Thou naughty varlet!
CONRADE Away! you are an ass, you are an ass.
DOGBERRY Dost thou not suspect my place? dost thou not suspect my years? O that he were here to write me down an ass! But, masters, remember that I am an ass; though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass. No, thou villain, thou art full of piety, as shall be proved upon thee by good witness.I am a wise fellow, and, which is more, an officer, and, which is more, a householder, and, which is more, as pretty a piece of flesh as any is inMessina, and one that knows the law, go to; and a rich fellow enough, go to; and a fellow that hath had losses, and one that hath two gowns and everything handsome about him. Bring him away. O thatI had been writ down an ass!

BENEDICK Soft and fair, friar. Which is Beatrice?
BEATRICE [Unmasking] I answer to that name. What is your will?
BENEDICK Do not you love me?
BEATRICE Why, no; no more than reason.
BENEDICK Why, then your uncle and the prince and Claudio, have been deceived; they swore you did.
BEATRICE Do not you love me?
BENEDICK Troth, no; no more than reason.
BEATRICE Why, then my cousin Margaret and Ursula, are much deceived; for they did swear you did.
BENEDICK They swore that you were almost sick for me.
BEATRICE They swore that you were well-nigh dead for me.
BENEDICK 'Tis no such matter. Then you do not love me?
BEATRICE No, truly, but in friendly recompense.
