Papa finally had the chance to open his Father's Day cards and gifts last night! The packages and envelopes had been sitting in the diningroom for 2 weeks!
In the year 1875, Bay View was founded"for intellectualand scientific culture and for the promotion of the cause of religion and morality"and to provide homes and congenial surroundings for people who are interested in these purposes.
Our adopted grandparents, Bill and Sue DeRoo (Grandpa & Grandma D), have been so kind these past couple of years to let us stay at their Bay View cottage! We have so enjoyed our weekend trips to Fern Hill cottage!
Kilwin's is located in downtown Charlevoix, and their ice cream is pretty tasty, and 1 scoop is really big! Some of the flavors we had were Traverse City Cherry, Cookies & Cream, Kilwin Tracks, and Chocolate Silk. Yum! Papa is saying "hurry, my mouth is freezing to my ice cream!" I guess 3 pictures of the fam were too many...
One thing about being a photographer, is that once in a while you might be in a picture all by yourself!
Take a look at the second picture, quite the house, eh? We also saw a parachutist land on the beach, very exciting.
We drove out to Charlevoix on Friday evening, to have ice cream, and walk down to the beach. Annick, Evvie, Catrina, and I went really high on the swings that were on the beach :)
On Saturday, we drove up to Interlochen, and spent the day with our good friends, the Vinecki family. We had such a fun day talking, dancing, swimming, playing dress-up, and riding in the go-cart, but the highlight was being able to hold the newest Vinecki: Anthony Francis. Such a cute wee man he is!
(Nick eventually warmed back up to Papa, and enjoyed talking into Papa's cell phone)
Evvie and Catrina joined Maria, Olivia, and Julia outside, and they all had fun playing house in the woods. The woods and the West came together as the girls received a visit from Zorro in the middle of their housecleaning :)
