The Saturday after our arrival in Arizona was spent with Grandma Steere and Aunt Judy at a high tea. The food was absolutely delicious and was made by Mrs. Michele Marshall, the owner of the 'Mucky Duck Mustard Company'. We enjoyed her delicacies and decided that she has a great last name!
Since March is "Women's History Month", the entertainment centered around the roles women have assumed throughout the decades. Several ladies represented famous women, such as Maya Angelou and Sandra Day O'Connor, who have impacted the world in many ways.
Some of the entertainment was presented in song as well as in word and skits. One song has me wondering.... Here it is, (to the tune of "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands").
We've got the world's future in our hands,
To feed all the babies in all the lands,
Making sure everyone understands,
We need equality for all.
We've got new technology and new power,
And the world's changing hour by hour,
We have science and medicine working, too,
And we know what we've got to do.
We have justice for all in our hearts,
And it's time the whole world got some smarts,
To stop all aggression before it starts,
We've got the future in our hands.
Why, according to the song, do we want the future in our hands?
Sure, we can feed the babies in all the lands, but what about protecting the ones in the womb right here in America? (As an aside, do feminists wonder how many men and women, with the potential for finding cures for diseases, such as cancer, have been aborted, in the name of "my body, my choice, my freedom"....)
As for equality, men and women are already equal. We just have different roles and strengths to fulfill our different abilities. Men work outside the home as providers, women work inside the home to make restful havens for their families.
New technology and medicine (such as birth control), we definitely have, but much of it is uneeded for those women who are wise enough to stay pure 'til marriage, and wise enough to realize that having a family is the best thing that could happen to a woman.
Justice for all? Are the pre-born and Terry Schiavos included?
We are here to be companions,( the best ones on the planet, I might add!) to our men, whether fathers, brothers, or husbands. What better occupation could we have? Besides, if men weren't around we wouldn't be here either. You need both sexes no matter how you look at it.
All in all, women are just as important as men, but you need both to have a healthy balance in life. And although this article is mainly speaking to ladies, we need you men to be strong, faithful leaders.
For those areas in the working and political spheres where women do not have influence yet, perhaps we can just get out of the way and encourage the men to do a terrific job. I am ready instead to stand up and applaud men who protect women and children ( born and pre-born), and do the right thing because it is right. As for we women, let's do our part to keep our men and families ready for action. We are needed!!! "Let's Roll!"

Allison,
Couldn't have said it better myself. We need to be on the forefront combating the feministic philosophies of the day - Keep at it !
