The Saushall (so-cial)
The Marshall clan took a drive to Riverview MI to visit the Sauve family last week! We shared a meal snd dessert (cookies and brownies, well, no, we didn't bring any this time. These were made from scratch, and oh-so-delicious!)
In addition, we played volleyball, had a water balloon fight and toss, and a lively, wet game of Toss the Water Balloon in a Bedsheet. One side had all girls and the other side were the boys and parents. Guess who was soaked the most? Actually, it was the girls who were practically drenched...
After a time of singing together, in which we listened to Charity, Faith, Grace, and Christiana sing a beautiful hymn as a quartet, I decided we had to have just one more laugh, and promptly pulled out The Masks! That action certainly brought some more laughs...

Music for the Emotions
Last Thursday evening started out a little tense, but we soon relaxed under the influence of our own musicality! For you see, it was the first outdoor concert for the Lapeer Civic Orchestras! As we played our respective instruments, concenterated on the notes and dynamics before our eyes, and glanced at the conductor on a regular basis, beautiful music flowed over the audience. We pricked up their ears with "The Stars and Stripes Forever", "The Syncopated Clock", "When I Can Read My Title Clear", and "To Reap The Blessings of Freedom"(a medley of the Armed Forces anthems), we softened hearts with "Shenandoah", "Brother James Air", and "Celtic Lullaby", and finally we brought a few tears with "Ashokan Farewell". Miss Lindy Wagner was our soloist for "Ashokan" and she played beatifully!
Enjoy the photos, and check out more at www.delfamily.blogspot.com. The orchestra website has our itinerary, www.lapeerorchestra.com, and our next outdoor concert is August 18! Hope to see you there!

Ice Cream, With a Social Scoop of Fun!
We celebrated the opening of the LCO Cafe by enjoying its first specialty: ICE CREAM! Mr. Eddy and son Shawn manned the scoops while Sam, Jon, Esther, Hannah, and Evvie provided the extras. Miss Theresa Eddy took the orders and Miss Catrina Marshall handed them to the "rather-warm-from-practicing-but-oh-SO-glad-to-have-a-treat" customers. Thank you Eddy Family for organizing the whole thing, it was a wonderful evening!

"The Spoon"...Coming to a Garden Near You!
NEWS FLASH!
Mrs. Thompson left her gardening spoon at our house for a few hours yesterday! I have it on good authority, that whenever Mrs. Thompson leaves her spoon she always comes back! She did return, and with the help of Mr. Thompson and Papa, she and Mama finished clearing the front flower bed. According to the Thompson children, Mom Thompson said she wouldn't make any new flower beds at our house-on-the-hill, and she didn't....she just extended the ground cover bed. Mr. Thompson settled the matter and declared that Mom did not make a new flower bed, she just extended the ground cover. The whole front of the house looks SO much neater!
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Thompson!
P.S. The Spoon is looking for a Fork as a companion!
