Here we are at the Thompson house, practicing orchestra music! And it sounded really good too! See Mr. DeL, we even practice on our 'play' days!
<- (Brahms Symphony 1) As always, we had a great time with the Thompsons. Instruments were played, the horses were brought out, a delicious lunch was eaten, movies were talked about, and the moms had a nice time of fellowship :)
Our annual Martyr Party took place at the DeL family barn, and we enjoyed authentic French cuisine (Mousse au Chocolat, Tarte a la Pomme, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Cassulet, and French Apple Pie, to name a few), as well as some history about the Huguenots, and several interesting facts about the time period. Did you ever wonder where the terms "saved by the bell", "thresh hold", "don't throw the baby out with the bath water", came from? Click here to read all about it :) Mr. DeL (as Pastor Augustin Marlorat) carves the roast with the encouragement of Jake Hyslop (as Pierre Dorteat)
Some of the Huguenot men present:
Jon: Jacques Pavannes Tom: One of 300 Camisards A.J. Hyslop: Pierre Seguier Mr. Hyslop: Claude Brousson Jordan Hyslop: a follower of Pierre Seguier ...and of course, some Huguenot ladies:
Abbie Hyslop: One of 16 women imprisoned in the Tour de Constance Annick: Madeleine Menanteau Catrina: Louise de Coligny

Yesterday Sarah DeL and I took pictures at Past Tense Cider Mill. We had such fun, even though it was a bit chilly and windy out there! We didn't take many photos of each other because of cold, pink noses and some 'gone with the wind' hairstyles. (You ladies know what I mean:) If you are ever in our town, Past Tense has yummy cider, donuts, lunches, and ice cream. Do stop in! Happy November to you all :)
Yesterday the Marshall and DeL clans drove to the Hyslop residence, to celebrate Abbie's 10th birthday. We all enjoyed some lunch, complete with Pumpkin Praline birthday cake, the girls played "stick the apple on the tree", and decorated some candles. Last but not least, we oohed-and aahed as Abbie opened her gifts.
Happy 10th Birthday, Abbie!
Love,
The Marshalls :)
Enjoying the "pin the apple on the tree" game in the company of little Louis.
Catrina turned 13 on the 15th, and for her special dinner she chose Raspberry Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Scalloped Corn, Croissants, Fruit Salad, and Chocolate Cake (made by Evvie) and Ice Cream.
Catrina a is a blessing in our family, as she brings laughs, and enjoys making things in the the kitchen for all of us to sample :)
Happy Birthday Catrina, we love you!
Papa, Mama, Allison, Annick, and Evvie.
Esther's gift to Catrina was a handmade crosstitch of an angel. It is hanging in our bedroom :)
