After a breakfast with Mr. Hosner, we took a drive to East Jordan, and visited Otis Pottery. We met the owners, a very nice couple, friends of the Hosners, and chatted with them as we looked at the pottery. They have a Great Pyranees, named Poncho, and he seemed to enjoy the attention :0)

Back in Bay View, we had a picnic dinner by the bay, explored the playground, and listened to some brass students practice, and then some Madrigals played by a brass quintet. After that we headed out to Charlevoix for some ice cream, and to watch the sun set on the beach.

On Tuesday we took the nice scenic route to Harbor Springs, and had a picnic lunch by the water.

This seagull made sure the other segulls knew that we were his tourists, and therefore any crumbs belonged to him!

United in Marriage: Jonathan and Elizabeth Devine

Last Sunday we joined with many others to witness the marriage covenant vows of Jonathan Devine and Elizabeth Bonjour. The ceremony was beautiful, the bride and groom spoke vows they had written to each other, and the pastor joined their hands as Mr. and Mrs. Devine. May God bless them richly as they seek to serve Him together!

Moving/Tack Sale

Evvie and Annick present the box of free money...

We had a big moving sale, combined with Annick's horse tack sale, and some items from Amber's Afghans ,2 weeks ago. The sale was for some dear friends who had to move out of state this year. God blessed us with lots of customers and lots of dollars! Amber Thompson stayed with us for the sale, and we loved having her!

Chaperone at SSI

This week I was a chaperone for the Student Statesmanship Institute's summer program. I also volunteered to take promotional photos for the organization. I traveled with David and Amber Thompson, and their friend Richard Peak, and also roomed with Amber, and the founder's daughter Emily Muffett. It was an exciting and busy week! There were 2 trips to the Capitol, great speakers, fun games, and much more! Part of my duties as chaperone was to make sure the girls were in their rooms at the right time, as well as making sure everone came to the sessions, plus keeping the committee I was in charge of, on track. You can find out all about this program at
www.ssi-online.org .

All the SSI students, chaperones, ADCs, and directors on the steps of the Capitol building.

Jeff Visscher and his daughter Andi. Andi had fun pounding the gavel for this shot :0)

Reading the "Torch"

After my week at SSI, I had to bring the family up to date on the daily SSI news. Every day the students and staff were treated to a report of the previous days' adventures in the Torch newspaper.

Michael Strubler's Open House

The Strubler family have been very close and dear friends for many years. The whole Marshall clan drove to the Strubler acres to help Michael celebrate his high school graduation. Michael is an artist and musician, and is planning on extending his studies in those areas. We enjoyed seeing the Strublers again, as well as many other friends. Congrats Michael!

Elizabeth's Bridal Shower

Elizabeth Bonjour is going to marry Jonathan Devine in August. Mama and three of us girls went to her bridal shower on Saturday. We have known the Bonjour family for quite a while, and Annick and I have done a few children's programs with them. Congratulations Jonathan and Elizabeth!

In Memoriam

Humorous G. Rocke was laid to rest sometime last week.
H.G. Rocke grew boulder as he aged, and was a cornerstone in his field.
He is survived by his wife Ina, and his little pebbles.
