Monday evening found a bustle of activity at the pavilion in downtown Lapeer. Musicians moved around tuning instruments and warming up in preperation for the last LCO rehersal before the summer concert. Mr. Keith Corbett has benn our conductor for this summer, and Miss Wendy Case has been our summer concertmistress. The LCO had tough competition that night as we tried to play the intricate strains of "A Shaker Melody", while the Heritage Research Institute had their 4th of July presentation rehersal, complete with stirring patriotic recordings, on the nearby courthouse lawn. We managed to have a good rehersal anyway, because who can help but focus on the music when you know that a cool, refreshing root-beer float awaits you at the end?

Be sure to come to the outdoor concert on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the pavilion! I know you will enjoy the music. We have been practicing a lot! The concert is free-of-charge, but you will have to bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
